On January 12, 2010: A magnitude 7.0 earthquake has struck near the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince. Dear Friends and Partners: Roads and hospitals have been destroyed, making the relief response challenging. However, our Radiant life team on the ground is working as hard as we can to meet the needs of food, water., shelter , clothing and medical aid. We are constantly being updated on the immediate needs of the people. As we coordinate with our team to mobilize a response, we are appealing to the Canadian public to support us - enabling us to help Haiti. Radiant Life has been actively involved in rebuilding and extended relief assistance to Haiti since 2004. After Tropical stormb Jean caused great devastation, we assisted in rebuilding homes, schools, churches, providing food and emergency medicines. Containers have been shipped with clothing, food and medical supplies and educational supplies. Our ongoing project includes a livelihood project in the Deslandes area. Approximately 80% of Haitians live in poverty. A catastrophic event like this leaves the people with no means to meet the emergency health care, shelter, and water and sanitation needs that follow a natural disaster. If these needs are not met quickly, disease will spread rapidly, multiplying the impact of the devastation. Thank you very much for thinking of us in light of the unprecedented earthquake in Haiti. If you would like to help, you can do so by making a donation on the Radiant Life Ministries website. Please follow these steps to DONATE now: 1) log on to www.helphaiti.ca All financial donations made through the Radiant Life web site will go
directly to the Centre D'intervention Jeunesse (CIJ). We know that your thoughts and prayers accompany us as we move forward.
Please pray for Haiti and help us to help them.
Will You Support Haiti? Every dollar you contribute to our organization,
the Canadian government will match 1:1 in contributions to the Haiti Earthquake
Relief Fund. The deadline is February 12th, 2010.
